Mac Jones Names His Pick For Greatest Quarterback In NFL History

August 17, 2023 by The Spun

Speaking to the media Wednesday, Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was asked what advice he’d give to Jordan Love of the Packers.

Just like Jones did in 2021, Love is faced with the tough of task of replacing a franchise legend.

Before Jones offered advice to Love, he made his stance on Tom Brady very clear. He believes the seven-time Super Bowl champion is the greatest quarterback of all-time.

“Tom Brady’s the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL,” Jones said.

After making that statement, Jones gave Love some really important advice.

“So to follow him [Brady], it’s just trying to chase the standard that he set every day. Honestly, we’re definitely two different players. That’s the only advice I’d have: Just continue to grow and be yourself, right? That’s all you can do,” Jones said. “Put your best foot forward and compete. But yeah, it’s definitely big shoes to fill.”

Jones thrived as a rookie, completing 67.6 percent of his passes for 3,801 yards with 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Last season, Jones had just 2,997 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. We’ll see if he can put up better numbers this fall.
