Mac Jones struggled mightily against the Cowboys, completing just 57.1 percent of his passes and tossing two interceptions. He also had a costly fumble in the first half.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick benched Jones in the second half. And yet, he has already been named the starter for Week 5.
During an appearance on WEEI Radio this Monday, Jones was asked if he feels supported by the organization. He had an honest response.
“I think, for me, I just gotta go out there and win some games,” Jones said. “And that’s what it all comes down to is going out there and doing my part. I’m working hard. I know I can do it. I have to believe in myself. And I didn’t really give them a lot to believe in the other night, but I will show that I can do it. And that comes from hard work and trusting myself and trusting them.”

Jones has to play better if the Patriots are going to climb back to .500 this season.
Next up for the Patriots is a showdown with the Saints. That game shouldn’t be high-scoring, which bodes well for Jones.
