The New England Patriots have decided to keep quarterback Mac Jones for the 2023 season.
According to Tom Curran of NBCSports Boston, the Patriots will not be trading Jones once the new league year starts in March.
“Absolutely, positively not. The would happen over Robert Kraft’s dead body,” Curran said.
This means that Jones will be in consideration to start for the Patriots in 2023 after he struggled in 2022. He finished the season with 2,997 yards through the air with 14 touchdowns along with 11 interceptions.
He’ll be going up against Bailey Zappe, who appeared in four games last season before Jones came back.
The Patriots will be hoping that Jones can get them back to the playoffs after they went 8-9 this season. This is also a team that’s missed the playoffs in two of their last three seasons since Tom Brady left.
