The New England Patriots have a quarterback controversy on their hands right now but don’t tell that to linebacker Josh Uche.
The Patriots have to decide who will start between Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe and Uche thinks that it should be the former.
“When it comes to Mac, I love Mac. I mean, he’s a competitor. Somebody who I’ve gone to war with and practiced with,” Uche said, via NFL.com. “I’ve seen his work ethic and his tenacity. I think he’s a dog. That’s me personally, having worked with Mac and knowing what I know about him. Listen, he’s a dog. That’s all I can say, man. He’s our quarterback.”
It’s been an offseason of uncertainty for Jones since he struggled during the 2022 season. After leading the Patriots to the playoffs as a rookie in 2021, he saw his passing numbers go down last season and it led to the team missing the playoffs.
He’ll need to bounce back and show that he’s the guy if the Patriots want to get back to being a playoff team.
Jones will have that chance when OTAs and minicamp get underway in May/
