This past Wednesday was the final day for NFL teams to host top-30 visits. With that said, the Patriots decided to bring a potential-packed quarterback into their building.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Patriots had a meeting with Kentucky quarterback Will Levis.
New England currently owns the 14th pick in the draft. If Levis slips out of the top five, perhaps the Patriots will consider moving up to get him.
However, the NFL world doesn’t see Levis as a great fit in New England.
Levis would be a very out-of-character selection for the Patriots for a number of reasons, but mainly how much he turns the ball over (46:25 career TD:INT ratio, 19:10 last year in 11 games). That’s not saying that won’t take him, but it would be a major change in philosophy https://t.co/qRbaUcO4WD

“Sounds like 2018, when they had #23 and #31 and tried to set up a last-second meeting with Baker Mayfield,” Andrew Siciliano said.

The Patriots’ interest could signal a potential rift with Mac Jones. It could also be their way of simply evaluating this year’s quarterback class.
Levis finished his Kentucky career with 5,232 passing yards, 269 rushing yards and 54 total touchdowns.
Most analysts expect Levis to be a top-10 pick in this year’s draft.
