Robert Kraft dropped a bombshell at the league meetings on Monday when he said rapper Meek Mill told him Lamar Jackson wants to be a Patriot.
On Tuesday, a pair of former Patriots debated on ESPN the likelihood of New England trading for the 2019 NFL MVP.
One of those ex-Pats, Devin McCourty, said the team “has to make a call and see” while Tedy Bruschi doesn’t think it’s a “realistic” possibility.

“No way Bill dedicates enough salary cap to land this player,” one Pats fan predicted.

“I hate they’re setting Mac Jones up for failure again. Last season it was the coaching staff. This season they have no confidence,” a third fan chimed in.

“If Kraft is being real about having an open checkbook why wouldn’t this be realistic for patriots? Go from having a top 20 QB to a top 7 maybe top 5,” another fan said.

Currently, the Patriots’ quarterback depth chart is comprised of Jones, their 2021 first-round draft pick, and Bailey Zappe, last year’s fourth-rounder.
Belichick did not offer a ringing endorsement of Jones on Monday, saying only that the would play “the best player” at the position.
