Look: NFL Prospect’s Bill Belichick Story Is Going Viral

Bill Belichick has a well-earned reputation for being a disciplinarian as head coach of the New England Patriots. But one NFL prospect had a story about the Patriots coach that shows how far his disciplining goes.

In an interview with Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald, Georgia Tech defender Charlie Thomas revealed that Belichick was at the East-West Shrine Bowl practice and demanded that the punting unit run a play again after failing to execute to his standards.

During one practice at the East-West Shrine Bowl, an annual showcase for draft prospects where the Patriots coached one team for a full week, Bill Belichick stopped everything. He confronted the punting unit that had failed to execute to his standards. He forced both sides to run it again.

“It was very structured and disciplined. They’re straightforward. They’re going to tell you what you’re doing wrong, what you need to do to get better, and they’re going to be completely honest with you,” Thomas said.

That certainly seems to track with what we know about Bill Belichick. Let it never be said that the six-time Super Bowl champion doesn’t demand the best from players – even if they aren’t on his team.

Will Charlie Thomas wind up going to the Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft?
