Rodney Harrison doesn’t think the New England Patriots are done yet.
New England opened the 2023 season with two single-digit home losses to the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. Given the level of competition his former team encountered, the two-time Super Bowl champion said it’s too soon to write off Bill Belichick and Co.
“It’s dumb for fans to sit there and say that. It’s just stupid,” Harrison said on Eye on Foxborough, via Mass Live. “I mean, if you know anything about Coach Belichick, you know, every single week, I don’t care what the record is. They’re gonna fight and claw, and they’ve given themselves a chance to win against two good teams back to back.”
Things haven’t gone the Patriots’ way over the last two weeks, but Rodney Harrison isn’t ready to count the team out just yet. On the latest episode of “Eye On Foxborough,” the two-time Super Bowl champ explained why fans should still believe in New Eng… https://t.co/DIlDpQTBnr

Harrison wants to give the Patriots more time before jumping to conclusions.
“I don’t get it,” Harrison continued. “You bury a team after a couple of weeks. I mean, obviously there’s a learning curve.”
The Patriots gained 131 more yards than the Eagles in a 25-20 loss to open the season. They then fought back from a 17-3 deficit and possessed the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead in Sunday night’s 24-17 loss to Miami.
There’s no reason to panic after falling short to two championship contenders. However, it’s also fair to wonder if the Patriots aren’t good enough to make a serious push.
New England went 8-9 last season and hasn’t won a playoff game since Tom Brady’s exit. Belichick’s current team could be peaking as a fringe playoff contender.
At least the Patriots have a more manageable chance at a victory when facing Zach Wilson and the New York Jets this Sunday.
