Lamar Jackson Was Nearly Speechless After Tom Brady’s Compliment

January 12, 2024 by The Spun

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – NOVEMBER 03: Quarterback Lamar Jackson #8 of the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots talk after the Ravens defeated the Patriots at M&T Bank Stadium on November 3, 2019 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Todd Olszewski/Getty Images)

Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady shared the football field just a few times during Brady’s playing career, but Brady had apparently had his eyes on Jackson for much longer, much to Jackson’s amazement.

Appearing on Brady’s Let’s Go podcast, Brady said that he had been watching Jackson since he first saw his high school highlights. He said that he was happy to see that he was able to continue doing those kinds of things in the NFL and praised Jackson for being a reason people watch the game.

“First time I ever really noticed you was that HS highlight…now you’re doing that at the highest level…you’re the reason why people watch the NFL,” Brady said.

Jackson was nearly speechless. All he could do was laugh a little bit and say, “That means a lot coming from you.”

NFL fans loved seeing this lovely exchange between the two NFL icons:

Tom Brady/Lamar exchange is so wholesome:

“Lamar lit up like a kid on Christmas day when he heard that Brady knew about him when Lamar was still in Highschool! Thats awesome!!” one user replied.

“Lamar was so giddy after getting that compliment from Brady,” wrote another.

“Wholesome is right. This put a big smile on my face. Tom is a good man, so is Lamar,” a third wrote.

How special do you think this moment really was to Lamar Jackson?
