The Patriots announced their 2025 staff on Wednesday.

After three weeks of news and rumors, the New England Patriots have made the official announcement. On Thursday, they unveiled their coaching staff for the 2025 season including not just head coach Mike Vrabel and his already-known coordinators, but also a big group of position coaches and assistants.

How that staff will perform in 2025 and whether it will be able to improve New England’s record after back-to-back 4-13 seasons will be seen. For the moment, let’s grade the staff given what we know about the coaches in question as well as the state of the Patriots and their roster.

Patriots 2025 coaching staff

Bernd Buchmasser: Not every hire made by Mike Vrabel was an instant headline-grabber like Josh McDaniels returning for a third stint as Patriots offensive coordinator. However, Vrabel still managed to surround himself with an experienced staff filled with trusted companions. There were some decisions potentially inviting scrutiny further down the line — letting Mike Pellegrino and Brian Belichick go, hiring Todd Downing as receivers coach — but the overall composition of the staff looks capable. | B+

Brian Hines: The Patriots opted for plenty of experience on their coaching staff — especially on the offensive side of the ball with three former head coaches. McDaniels scheme will be interesting to watch develop with West Coast coaches filling his staff, but there were some decisions easy to second guess such as hiring another inexperienced wide receiver coach and remodeling the secondary structure under defensive coordinator Terrell Williams, who’s experience comes along the defensive front. | B

How would you grade the Patriots’ new-look coaching staff, though? Please head down to the comment section to let us know!
