
Former Patriots star Willie McGinest was arrested back in December due to his role in a physical altercation at a restaurant in Los Angeles.
A video of this incident shows McGinest striking another patron at this West Hollywood establishment. On Thursday morning, the NFL world received a significant on the three-time Super Bowl champion.
According to TMZ Sports, McGinest has been charged with two felonies.
McGinest has reportedly been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of assault by means of force likely to cause great bodily injury.
Each charge for McGinest carries up to four years in prison.
McGinest has already issued an apology for his actions.
“First and foremost, I want to offer my deepest apology for my lapse in judgment and behavior on December 9 at a restaurant in West Hollywood. To my family, community, friends, and youth I mentor, please know I feel horrible for my actions and take full responsibility,” McGinest said.
McGinest’s arraignment has been set for April.
