Ezekiel Elliott Has 6-Word Reaction To Signing With The Patriots

August 15, 2023 by The Spun

In a surprise move, free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott has signed a contract with the New England Patriots.

The former two-time NFL rushing leader signed a one-year deal with the Patriots earlier today following a successful workout for the team.

But as happy as Elliott may be to be joining the Patriots and getting to learn under head coach Bill Belichick, it appears he’s happy about something else: His jersey number.

Taking to X, Elliott wrote “One Five, all the way live! @Patriots,” in reference to the team giving him the number 15 as a jersey number. It’s the same number he wore at Ohio State, where he became one of the most prolific rushers in school history.

Under the terms of the deal, Ezekiel Elliott can make up to $6 million this year. He won’t have to wait long before getting to see his former team either…

The Patriots play the Dallas Cowboys on October, at AT&T Stadium in a late afternoon game that will be televised nationally.

One can only wonder if Elliott joined the Patriots in part because of the guaranteed chance to face his former team so quickly.

How many yards will Ezekiel Elliott have for the Patriots this season?
