Everyone Made The Same Joke About Mac Jones Thursday Night

March 2, 2024 by The Spun

Mac Jones had a nightmare 2023 season, putting his future with the New England Patriots in jeopardy.

On Thursday, WEEI’s Mike Kadlick shared a clip of Jones on X/Twitter courtesy of the @QBClub12 on Instagram. In it, the 2021 first-round pick shows off a no-look pass in a drill.

Jones wasn’t doing anything wrong in the video, but he walked right into an obvious joke on social media.

“Might want to focus more on the look pass,” one person said.

“Dawg are you telling me he was looking at the passes before,” another person added.

“Lol wtf he needs to work on throwing to people he’s looking at,” a third person chimed in.

“He might wanna master the ‘look’ passes before he moves onto the ‘no look’ ones,” said a fourth commenter.

“He should be focusing more on the look pass,” a fifth person said.

After a solid rookie season that included a trip to the playoffs, Jones regressed in 2022, though having Joe Judge and Matt Patricia in charge of the Patriots’ offense certainly did him no favors.

The former Alabama star was supposed to bounce back under Bill O’Brien this past fall, but that never happened. Jones finished the year with 10 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions in 11 games and at one point, was benched for former fourth-round pick Bailey Zappe.

New England owns the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, which puts them in prime position to pick Jones’ replacement, if they so desire.
