With the New England Patriots playing on Thursday Night Football tonight, Bill Belichick’s Saturday is freer than usual this week.
ESPN’s College GameDay has enlisted the legendary head coach to be its guest picker for the annual Army-Navy game, to be played this year at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots’ home field in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Usually, the weekly guest picker is someone with a little more of an expressive personality than Belichick has, but the location of the game and the fact Belichick grew up in Annapolis and his father coached at the Naval Academy makes him a solid, if atypical, fit for the role.
Judging by the social media responses to ESPN’s announcement, there are plenty of people excited to watch him in action.

College GameDay will start at 9 a.m. ET Saturday. Belichick should make his appearance later in the show.
Army-Navy will kick off at 3 p.m. ET Saturday afternoon on CBS.
