Drake Maye’s Brothers Had Perfect Post-Draft Message For Him

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called on Thursday Night. The New England Patriots selected him with the No. 3 pick.

After the Patriots drafted Maye, he watched a video message from his three brothers – Luke, Cole and Beau.

At first, Maye thought his brothers were going to send him words of encouragement. However, they actually re-enacted a famous clip from the “Fab Five” documentary that ESPN made.

Maye couldn’t help but laugh when he realized where this video was going.

“Are you all serious? Are you serious? I was getting emotional for a second, but I’m laughing now,” Maye said. “Who let them say that?”

Maye will face a lot of pressure in New England in large part because the fans watched Tom Brady at quarterback for two decades. They know what greatness looks like.

However, Maye knows he’s not Brady. He just needs to play his style of football.

“Tom Brady’s the G.O.A.T.,” Maye said, via NFL.com. “It’s easy to say that. He’s the best that ever played this game. I’m not going to be Tom Brady. So, I’m just going to try to be Drake Maye, and from there, I’m just trying to learn from him, hopefully get to know him a little bit. Other than that, just try to soak it up, be a sponge and try to learn all I can from him. He’s the man of that town.”

The Patriots are hoping Maye can get the franchise back on track.
