Drake Maye Reacts To Patriots Drafting Another Quarterback

If Drake Maye was bothered by the Patriots spending a sixth-round pick on Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III he certainly didn’t show it on social media.

Taking to Twitter shortly after New England’s selection, the Pats’ third overall pick said: “Joe cool! Congrats bro [fire emoji].”

The Patriots took a flier on the biggest arm in the draft with pick No. 193.

Quarterback was obviously a huge hole for them last season so adding some more depth at the position couldn’t hurt.

Milton completed nearly 65-percent of his passes for 2,813 yards and 20 touchdowns as the leader of UT’s offense in 2023 and his rocket arm strength was one of the highlights of this year’s Combine.

Few players can spin it like Milton can but it hasn’t really resulted in the type of success you might expect to this point.

Still though, he certainly could be a fun project for an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach with his intriguing set of physical tools.

As talented as Maye is, he’s far from a finished product or a sure thing. So this could be something to watch as things develop in Foxborough over the next few years.

What kind of role will Milton have with the team this year?
