For seven years in Dallas, quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott were the offensive anchors of the Cowboys’ success. With Elliott now gone, Prescott is giving his former teammate his due.
Ahead of tonight’s preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Prescott showed up to the stadium wearing one of Elliott’s Ohio State jerseys.
Elliott wore the No. 15 at Ohio State but switched to No. 22 when he entered the NFL with the Cowboys in 2016. However, since moving to the New England Patriots, Elliott has returned to his college number and will wear No. 15 for the team in 2023.
Cowboys fans have been giving Prescott props for showing respect to his former teammate:

“Ima cry in the car,” wrote another.
“Dak showing up in an Ohio State Zeke jersey is pretty awesome,” wrote a third.
The Cowboys and Patriots play each other in Week 4. We’ll see how the two show respect for each other again in short order.
