Just one day after the news of Stefon Diggs’s charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery, the Patriots are in the news once again. WCVB-TV Boston broke news that Christian Barmore is facing charges of domestic violence from an incident back in August involving his then-girlfriend. The former second-round pick is now in his fifth season with the New England Patriots. He’s had a very productive year following last season, which was cut short after just four games last season due to complications with blood clotting.
Court documents regarding this case were released, as shown in this post on X.com.

Christian Barmore Is Facing Domestic Violence Charges
Barmore’s arraignment is scheduled for February 3rd in Attleboro District Court, just five days before Super Bowl LX.
Mike Vrabel addressed the media shortly after the news broke of Barmore’s case. He was asked if he was disappointed in the allegations against both Diggs and Barmore, to which he replied;
“Well, I would say not disappointing at all. I think that these are allegations… Its things we have to handle and every day there distractions, some smaller than others. I’m confident we’ll focus on the Dolphins.”
The timing of these allegations is incredibly unfortunate for the team. The playoffs begin in just over a week and in the span of two days, the Patriots now have two key starters facing serious allegations that leave their eligibility in jeopardy.
There was one potentially key difference in the team’s statements regarding these allegations. In the statement regarding Stefon Diggs’s case, the team included the sentence “We support Stefon.” That sentence was not included in their statement following the news of Barmore’s case.
The Patriots have released a statement after Stefon Diggs was charged with felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges.

Drake Maye was also asked about these reports in his media session on Wednesday.
“Best thing coach Vrabel always says is let those guys speak for themselves… Whatever they need from me, I’m here for them”.
Amidst a shocking and unfortunate week surrounding players within the Patriots’ locker room, the team still has to focus on finishing the season strong and focusing on the task at hand. This weekend, that task is the Miami Dolphins.
