Bill Belichick may be sitting on the hottest seat he’s ever been on during his time in New England.
After another ugly blowout loss in back-to-back weeks, the Patriots coach was asked on Monday’s “Greg Hill Show” why he believes he’s the right person to lead the organization into the future. Here’s what the six-time Super Bowl winner had to say:
I’m gonna do the best I can to help our football team. That’s my job. …. I’m gonna do the best I can to help the team.

Things couldn’t have looked much worse through the first five games for Belichick’s Pats. Quarterback Mac Jones looks lost, injuries are mounting on the defensive side and the team’s skill players aren’t really making plays (not that they’re being given the chance to).
It’s wild to think that the organization is closer to being in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes than being a playoff team. But that’s exactly where they find themselves through the first month of the season.
We’ll see how Robert Kraft decides to navigate this situation should it continue in this direction.
