Mac Jones and the New England Patriots offense have struggled immensely through the first five weeks of the regular season.
Jones has been replaced by backup Bailey Zappe in the second half of back-to-back blowout losses. Nevertheless, Bill Belichick said he is sticking with the third-year signal caller for this Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Asked Wednesday morning if Jones would be starting this week, Belichick confirmed “we’re not making any changes.”

Jones is completing 62.8% of his passes but has thrown for only 1,008 yards, five touchdowns and six interceptions so far this season. He has also had multiple interceptions returned for touchdowns.
New England has scored only 55 points in five games, the lowest scoring output in the NFL. They have been outscored by the Saints and Cowboys 72-3 in their last two games and haven’t scored a touchdown since the first half of their win over the New York Jets on Sept. 24.
If the Patriots can’t beat the Raiders this weekend, a 1-7 start is likely with games coming up against the high-powered Bills and Dolphins.
