Father Time is always undefeated when it comes to legendary coaches or players in sports.
Bill Belichick has been a head coach in the NFL for 29 seasons and has shown no signs of wanting to retire, despite being 71.
Part of the reason he wants to keep coaching is because he wants to pass Don Shula’s all-time wins record of 347. Right now, Belichick is only 18 shy of the record.
He also wants to pass the record because Shula talked some smack about him during the Spygate scandal in 2007, per Christopher Price.
“If I can’t whip you off the books with another perfect season, I’m going to do the next best thing, I’m going to take your all-time wins record,” Price said about Belichick, via DolphinsTalk.com.
Update: The reason #Patriots coach Bill Belichick won’t retire yet and wants to pass Don Shula’s all-time wins mark, is because Shula badmouthed him during the Spygate scandal, per @cpriceglobe via @DolphinsTalk

If Belichick is able to lead the Patriots to the playoffs this season and next season, he’ll most likely break the record.
Time will tell if he can do it.
