Bill Belichick Names Standout Of The Patriots’ Offseason Program

Bill Belichick’s “do your job” mantra might make it hard for individual players to stand out from time to time. But one player on the New England Patriots is doing just that.

Speaking to the media this week, Belichick spoke glowingly about starting tight end Hunter Henry. He said that Henry has been one of the team’s best players in training camp and has “made a lot of improvement this year.”

“Great, good, really good, one of our best,” Belichick said, via ProFootballTalk. “He was here every day, consistency. Made a lot of improvement this year. Last year he was coming off surgery but this year he had a really good, productive offseason from a strength and conditioning standpoint. Last year it was more rehab. He was productive on the field, gave us good leadership. He was great.”

In two seasons with the Patriots, Henry has 91 receptions for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns. He hasn’t missed a game.

2023 is an important year for Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. While the rumors of Belichick being on “the hot seat” may or may not be exaggerated, it’s still a bit of a make-or-break year for a bunch of people.

Quarterback Mac Jones simply has to return to his rookie form this year. The Patriots have done everything they can to put him in the best position to succeed this year.

If Jones continues to play like he did in 2022, Belichick might find himself forced to pull the plug before the end of Jones’ third season.

Will the Patriots make the playoffs in 2023?
