For those that have paid attention to Bill Belichick press conferences over the years, you might’ve noticed that the Patriots coach always wrestles a bit with the microphone before taking questions.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss was one of the first to point it out over the summer. Tweeting, “First 1-on-1 battle of training camp: Bill Belichick vs. the press conference microphone. Score the win for Belichick. Re-established the line of scrimmage decisively.”

And after Sunday’s exchange with the microphone following a third straight loss at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders, Belichick clearly had enough of it:

When asked by longtime Pats reporter Tom Curran why he seems to always move the microphone every time he addresses the media, Belichick replied with a smirk: “So I can see you guys.”
Given the coach’s history and general demeanor with the press, it’s hard to imagine that’s the actual answer.
But maybe one day we’ll get the real one. And maybe one day the team will get a second win.
