The Patriots are now 2-7 in what’s been a disastrous 2023 campaign and serious questions have begun to arise about how much longer Bill Belichick could be on the sideline in New England.
Asked about his future following Sunday’s loss, the outwardly gruff and tight-lipped HC kept it on-brand. Telling reporters he’s only focused on the Pats’ next opponent (via NESN’s Dakota Randall):
Has Bill Belichick received any assurances from Patriots ownership about his job status? … ‘I’m focused on getting ready for the Colts.’ … Do you believe you’re coaching for your job this week? … ‘I’m going to control what I can control and get ready for the Colts.’

The Patriots just lost to the Washington Commanders who got rid of two of their best pass rushers at the deadline and already appear to be punting on the season.
Once again New England’s offense failed to put up 20 points and Mac Jones’ turnovers continued.
Looking at the Pats’ schedule there could be plenty more losses down the stretch. Since Tom Brady’s exit, the 71-year-old coach’s record is 27-32.
