As tough as the first seven games have been, this weekend saw Bill Belichick become just the third coach in NFL history to reach 300 regular season wins.
But prior to that, a report surfaced that the legendary HC had signed a contract extension with the Patriots this offseason.
As is usually the case with Belichick’s contracts, there were no specific details shared, just that it was “a lucrative, multi-year” new deal.
From @NFLGameDay: This past offseason, #Patriots coach Bill Belichick quietly agreed to a lucrative multi-year new contract, sources say. That, at least, adds some context to the discussions about the greatest coach in NFL history. pic.twitter.com/ZPjRxzMVzJ

And during an appearance on WEEI Radio Monday morning, Belichick was asked about the report. However, as you can imagine, the six-time Super Bowl champion kept things under wraps.
“Yeah, I’m not talking about that,” he said.
Belichick’s future in New England has never been in more question than it’s been this year. Even with the win on Sunday, the Pats are off to a 2-5 start and have looked offensively inept in all but one game (the most recent one).
At 71-years-old, Belichick is certainly closer to the end of his career than the beginning. But it doesn’t seem he has any thoughts of leaving the sideline any time soon.
