4 Teams Named Potential Trade Destinations For Mac Jones

Things reportedly aren’t going well between Mac Jones and Bill Belichick.

According to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, lingering tension between the coach and quarterback has led to Belichick shopping the former first-round pick this offseason.

And while there isn’t a full list of potential trade destinations, four teams were mentioned by PFT’s source: the Raiders, Texans, Buccaneers and Commanders.

Per source, Bill Belichick has shopped Mac Jones this offseason. Could a trade still happen? https://t.co/z3cUkJQwtE

While Florio notes that obviously no deal has gone down yet, that doesn’t mean that one won’t. Saying, “A team hoping to draft a quarterback could pivot to Jones, if that team doesn’t get the guy it wants.”

Making the situation even stickier, Patriots owner Robert Kraft seems to be fully behind having Mac Jones at quarterback. Telling reporters last week:

I’m a big fan of Mac. He came to us as a rookie. He quarterbacked in his rookie season and did a very fine job I thought. We made the playoffs. I think we experimented with some things last year that frankly didn’t work when it came to him, in my opinion.

The Raiders already have the oft-injured Jimmy Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer in-house. Who’s to say Josh McDaniels doesn’t add another Patriot to the mix out west?
