TreVeyon Henderson had the best game of his career in Sunday’s win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that might not stop the New England Patriots from looking at free agent running backs. While Henderson had a dominant game with two long touchdowns, backup running back Terrell Jennings suffered a knee injury early in the contest and never returned to the game. With Rhamondre Stevenson still out with a toe injury, New England should do something to address the lack of depth at the position.
3 Running Backs the New England Patriots Could Sign
As of this posting, the only healthy backs on the team are Henderson and career journeyman D’Ernest Johnson. If Stevenson and Jennings can return to health, the 8-2 Patriots can get by with their current roster. However, if one or both players are down for the count, New England must find alternates. While the trade deadline is over, the Patriots still have a few interesting names to choose from on the open market.
