The New England Patriots are the greatest wild-card team in the 2024 NFL draft. With the No. 3 overall pick, they are positioned to take one of the top-three quarterbacks on the board.
There will likely only be one remaining after the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders have their turn. Some have attempted to shoehorn Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy into the mix over the last few weeks, but there’s a far greater likelihood that Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels will be the first three quarterbacks taken in the draft.
The Patriots could take one of the quarterbacks, go after a top receiver or even address the offensive tackle position. There’s also a possibility of a trade-down scenario, assuming they get a worthy enough offer to pass on a future quarterback.
