Draft Projection: Jones is currently ranked #176 among North American skaters by Central Scouting & #196 by McKeen’s Hockey – so he’s projected to be a solid seventh round draft pick for a team looking to shore up prospect depth.
Prospect Preview: Jones is currently slated to arrive at BC this fall, but that could change as their roster takes shape with newer commitments throughout the summer. He played one game with the Fargo Force of the USHL at the end of this past year, so it’s likely that he’ll return to the USHL if he needs another year of development prior to the NCAA.
Jones had 66 points in 43 games at Shattuck, tallying 18 goals and 48 assists. As a smaller forward, his hockey IQ immediately stands out in scouting reports, though his size may be a concern for draft stock. Of course, that wouldn’t be an issue at BC, where smaller forwards have had success over the years!
Fun Fact: Jones was drafted 18th overall by the Portland Winterhawks in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
