After a thrilling victory over Missouri State on Monday night, the Boston College men’s basketball team has advanced to the championship game of the Cayman Islands Classic. Fred Payne and Donald Hand led the way with 18 points each, scoring from both beyond the arc and getting in the paint, especially Hand who finished with 8 rebounds and 8 free throw attempts.

They’ll be facing off against Boise State, who should be a formidable opponent. The Broncos just scraped by South Dakota State and are also 5-1 on the season after they finished 22-11 last season and got bounced in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Their KenPom ranking is #44, well above BC’s ranking of #119, so this is an opportunity to come home with a quality win and some excitement from actually winning some kind of tournament!
