Another commit for Earl Grant
Boston College remained busy on the recruiting trail this week, adding another commitment to their class of 2022 in Canadian center Armani Mighty (what a name).
At 6’10’’, Mighty adds some serious size to a class that has a lot of skill but was composed of two guards and a 6’6’’ power forward in Prince Aligbe.
There’s not a lot of information available about Mighty on recruiting sites, but he had offers from Providence College and the University of Vermont.
Vermont blog “From the Parking Lot” wrote one of the more extensive profiles on Mighty.
Strengths – Domineering post player. Strong muscular frame, built like an ox. Plays above the rim. Gifted athlete. Controls the glass with ease. Good lateral quickness, moves very well for someone his size. Intimidating defender. Solid ball control and handles.
Weaknesses – Very limited outside of the paint. Poor shooting mechanics. Footwork needs improvement. Can play too aggressive at times. Relies too much on strength and athleticism rather basketball acumen. In danger of becoming one-dimensional at the next level.
Mighty is an intriguing add to the class and seems to fit in the Earl Grant mode of maybe being a little under the radar but having potential to become a key cog at BC. Welcome to the Heights!
