After a week of speculation, former Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman announced where he’ll play college football next season. He’ll spend his final year of eligibility at Notre Dame.
Hartman confirmed that he’s heading to Notre Dame in a social media post. He shared photos of himself in a Fighting Irish uniform along with the caption, “Onward.”
Most analysts predicted that Hartman would choose Notre Dame once he entered the transfer portal in late December.
Notre Dame lost this past season’s starting quarterback, Drew Pyne, to Arizona State.
This is obviously a huge addition to Notre Dame’s quarterback room. Hartman has been so productive over the past five years, throwing for 12,967 yards and 110 touchdowns.
Hartman will be the projected starting quarterback for Notre Dame when it kicks off its 2023 season against Navy.
As long as Hartman stays healthy, Notre Dame’s passing game should be dynamic next fall.
