Boston College has released injury updates on Phil Jurkovec and Aaron Boumerhi, and the news is not great. Jurkovec, BC’s starting quarterback, is likely to miss the remainder of the season with a hand injury, and kicker Boumerhi is out for the season with a hip injury.
Jurkovec was injured during last Saturday’s win at UMass, being replaced partway through the game by redshirt Dennis Grosel. Earlier this afternoon, he posted a photo on his Instagram stories of his bandaged hand, tagged at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Per BC, he underwent surgery yesterday.

Boumerhi was injured during preseason this year. He would have been the starting kicker had he been healthy to start the season. Senior kicker Danny Longman started against UMass, and will presumably continue in that role for the rest of this season.
Jurkovec is a redshirt junior who transferred to BC from Notre Dame, while Boumerhi is a graduate student who transferred from Temple.
