
The Boston College men’s hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with UNH tonight before “winning” in the shootout for the Hockey East boost (the game officially goes down as a tie).
The Eagles were playing with a very shortened bench, as they remaining without an injured Oskar Jellvik, have Brady Berard and Teddy Stiga out with short term injuries, and lost Andre Gasseau to a suspension following a slewfoot last night.
The teams played a fairly even first period and went into intermission tied at 0. UNH was able to break through in the second period, getting a goal past Jacob Fowler where the puck managed to sneak through him.
BC tied things up early in the third period, with Eamon Powell getting his. 100th career point by assisting on Gabe Perreault’s goal. Regulation ended tied at 1-1, as did overtime, and the game ended as an official tie.
In the shootout to determine who would get the Hockey East point. The shootout went to 5 rounds and ended in BC’s favor. Fowler stopped 4 of the 5 UNH attempts, and Gabe Perreault and Lukas Gustafsson both scored for BC.
