Last Season: Hastings, an IMG Academy product, spent last season redshirting as he adjusted to the speed and size of the college game. A high 3-star prospect out of high school with an offer sheet including Clemson, USC, Miami, and St. John’s, he’s got plenty of talent to bring to Boston College’s front court.
Season Outlook: Hastings will get significant minutes, likely off the bench. With the departures of Devin McGlockton and Quinten Post, BC will have a lot of production to replace in a front court that was never that deep to begin with. I think St. Bonaventure transfer Chad Venning to start at the 5, but given Hastings’ athleticism and size I think he will see time at both the 4 and the 5. With almost no Power 5 experience in this front court, Hastings’ play will be key to a successful season.
