After being swept by No. 18 Louisville last weekend and beating UMass Lowell on Tuesday, Boston College baseball is now 14-17 on the season and 5-10 in conference.

There really aren’t many positives to take from the series against Louisville (24-7, 8-4). Playing in Kentucky, the Eagles lost 12-8, 17-5 (in seven innings), and 12-1 (also in seven innings). The two teams played a double header on Friday and four BC pitchers allowed 25 hits and 29 runs across the two games. The two starters, Brady Miller and Kyle Kipp, allowed 17 combined runs in 3 innings. Sunday’s series finale saw Louisville take a 6-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh, before they scored six runs on five hits and ended the game prematurely via the run rule.

After that rough weekend series, the Eagles rebounded with a 3-1 victory over the UMass Lowell Riverhawks at home on Tuesday. Eric Schroeder started the game and threw three scoreless innings and struck out three. Joey Ryan pitched the final two innings, giving up no runs and earning his fifth save of the year. BC scored twice in the opening frame on an RBI single by Josiah Ragsdale and a sacrifice bunt by Kyle Wolff. Adam Magpoc drove in BC’s third run of the game in the seventh on a single to left field.

The Eagles will visit Dartmouth on Wednesday afternoon before taking on Notre Dame win Chestnut Hill over the weekend.
