Ozzy Trapilo
Grad Student from Boston College. Norwell, MA native.
Position: Right Tackle
Measurables: 6’8”, 316 pounds
Draft Projection: Round 3
Player Analysis:
Ozzy Trapilo has been a consistent presence on the Boston College offensive line for four years, having appeared in at least nine games in the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons. Through many ups and downs for the program, the BC High graduate really found his footing these past two seasons, earning all-ACC second team honors in 2023 and first team honors in 2024. His presence on the right side of the OL helped BC launch an incredible rushing attack with Thomas Castellanos and Kye Robichaux in 2023, followed up by another impressive season in 2024 that saw the BC OL finish the season with some of the best pass blocking stats we’ve seen from this program in a while.
Trapilo is a promising prospect that has gotten a lot of attention from scouts. His height and frame are an incredible advantage, and Trapilo always uses them to his advantage to force edge rushers to take wide angles to avoid his massive reach. He’s also been highly praised for his level of grit and his strength to get some serious push in the running game, something that could immediately make him a coach’s favorite. There are still certainly some things Trapilo needs to work on, including his hand placement and footwork, but all of the building blocks are there for him to be an NFL contributor.
Takeaway:
Trapilo has all of the physical characteristics you need to be a tackle in the National Football League. Expect him to get drafted in an early round and even potentially compete for a starting spot on an OL as a rookie, depending on which team takes him. With the right coaching and conditioning, Trapilo could be yet another success story for Boston College offensive linemen in the NFL.
Ideal Fits/Mocks:
Here’s another option that hometown Patriots fans might want their team to take. Drake Maye desperately needs an improved offensive line, and head coach Mike Vrabel is the exact kind of coach you would want to lead Trapilo’s development. Other teams that badly need an OT include the Chicago Bears (with BC alum Ryan Poles as their GM), Houston Texans, New York Giants, New York Jets, and the Seattle Seahawks.
The NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24th.
