Cam Horsley
Grade: Grad Student
Hometown: Cinnaminson, N.J.
Position: Defensive Tackle
Height/Weight: 6’4”/ 305 pounds
Draft Projection: Round 6/7
Player Analysis:
Cam Horsley has been a force on the Eagles defensive line for 5 years. Horsley has played in 59 games in a BC uniform, so he has been a huge part of the Eagles’ defense for the last half decade. Horsley was named ACC Honorable mention in 2023, and in 2024, Horsley earned All-ACC 3rd team honors. He finished the 2024 campaign with 7 TFLs, which was good for second on the BC defense.
Horsley has received attention from scouts due to his athleticism and size. At 6’ 4”, 305 pounds, he has the frame to be a productive tackle in the NFL. Scouts like how he is a proven tackler in college and has shown short-area quickness. There are some things Horsley can work on to become a starter in the NFL, such as his ability to keep control when penetrating into gaps, but he has the build and athleticism to work into being an NFL player.
Takeaway:
Horsley has all of the physical characteristics you need to be a defensive tackle in the National Football League. Horsley is projected to be a Day 3 selection, probably a 6th-7th round pick. He is projected as a back-up at the next level, but if he is drafted into the right situation, and takes advantage of opportunities, he could earn his way into a starting spot.
Ideal Fits/Mocks:
Mock Drafts are basically pointless for Day 3 because so much can change in the first two days of the draft, so I don’t think it’s worth showing where Mock Drafts have Horsley ending up. I will say the Jacksonville Jaguars are one team in need of depth at the Defensive Tackle position. Some other teams looking for some additional depth up front are the Buffalo Bills, the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, and the Atlanta Falcons. We‘ll see if Horsley ends up with any of these 4 teams.
The NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24th.
