The Boston Celtics absolutely mauled their opponents in the first half of the 2022-23 NBA season, only to find the team stumbling over several stretches to cast a little doubt on which version of the storied ball club we will see in the 2023 NBA Playoffs come April.
Will we see the version of the Celtics that was putting points on the board at a historic rate to start the campaign? Or the iteration that looked far more like the team that started the season prior hovering around .500 as old habits held the team back? Which version of the Celtics shows up is likely the difference between hanging a banner and an early postseason exit.
