WATCH: What's the plan for the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers?

August 8, 2021 by Celtics Wire Leave a Comment

What is the plan for building a team that will keep the Boston Celtics‘ two young star wings Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown happy moving forward? In an offseason that has seen little in the way of free agency signings (no offense, Enes Kanter — we know you just inked a team-friendly deal) and only a handful of trades, how do the Celtics plan on pushing the team closer to becoming a true contender in a fairly intense arms race in the league’s Eastern Conference?

At the same time, Boston’s longtime rival Los Angeles Lakers have been keeping pretty busy on the free-agent market, signing all kinds of big names … from a half-decade ago. Are the Celtics biding their time or taking big risks? Are the Lakers too old or will they end up passing Boston in total titles won this season?

Join CLNS Media head honcho Nick Gelso and Celtics Hall of Famer Cedric Maxwell as they try to make sense of a highly unusual offseason for both of the league’s cornerstone franchises on the latest episode of Maxwell’s eponymous podcast.
