The NBA went on a bit of a spending spree as soon as the 2021 summer free agency period began in earnest, but apart from a minimum signing for former Boston Celtics big man Enes Kanter, the Celtics have at least so far largely stood pat.
While there may be some wisdom to keeping the team’s books clean ahead of a potential pursuit of Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal or some other impactful target, when it comes to keeping the team’s two star wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum happy in the present, Boston seems to have dropped the ball.
