The Boston Celtics may have surprised some fans when they elected to select French wing Juhann Begarin with the 45th overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft with their sole selection this year, but those in the know realize it was a potential home run swing given the upside of the athletic, long guard who has the size to play up to the 3 and the burst to guard smaller, quick opponents.
Begarin was recently added to the team’s Las Vegas Summer League roster at his own request, so the Guadeloupe native can have the opportunity to show what he can do against NBA-level talent. And he spoke to the press for the first time after a practice with Boston’s summer league squad, sharing some information about his game, his knowledge of the team that drafted him, and more.
