The 3 Best Celtics-Knicks Player Props For Game 2

May 8, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby (8) shoots the ball against Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (40) in the third quarter during game one of the second round for the 2025 NBA Playoffs at TD Garden.

The Boston Celtics vs the New York Knicks Game 1 was one to remember. The Celtics took a commanding lead early, but the Knicks slowly chipped away and, after some late-game heroics, secured an overtime victory. Boston was historically bad from three-point range. While that likely won’t happen again, they also picked up a couple of injuries that could threaten their ability to defend their championship. On the other hand, New York will smell blood and attempt to take the series back home up 2-0. Here are the best Celtics-Knicks player props to bet on in Game 2.

The 3 Best Celtics-Knicks Player Props For Game 2

*All Celtics vs Knicks Game 2 odds are courtesy of Bovada as of Tuesday night

Jayson Tatum: Over 36.5 points/rebounds (-115)

Jayson Tatum had a terrible shooting night in Game 1. He was 7-of-23 from the field and a horrid 4-of-15 from three. He still managed to notch 23 points despite his inefficiency. On top of that, he added 16 rebounds to his stat sheet, taking advantage of the Knicks often not having a true center on the floor. Despite a terrible shooting night, Tatum still exceeded this number in Game 1, which is partly why taking him to surpass 36.5 points/rebounds combined is one of the best Celtics-Knicks player props for Game 2.

Before missing everything on Monday night, Tatum was clicking on the offensive end in these playoffs. He had 35 points or more in the last three games of the Orlando Magic series. We expect another 30+ point night from Tatum on Wednesday, and at least eight or so rebounds to take him over this line.

OG Anunoby: Over 17.5 points (-103)

OG Anunoby was huge for the Knicks in Game 1. He notched 29 points on 10-of-20 from the field and 6-of-11 from three. He also played a whopping 46 minutes. We are expecting Anunoby to have a similarly productive night in Game 2. The Celtics are committed to keeping Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns under control on defense, giving Anunoby a window to take more offensive power.

In these playoffs, Anunoby has scored at least 18 points in five of seven games. This line is way too low for someone averaging 20 points over his last five games. This is a player prop we think will go over in Game 2.

Kristaps Porzingis: Under 16.5 points (-104)

Something is going on with Kristaps Porzingis. He played just a few ugly minutes of Game 1 before leaving with an “illness.” Porzingis has now missed a significant chunk of games with this illness, and nobody seems to know what it is. Right now, Porzingis is listed as probable for Game 2.

The problem is, even if Porzingis is 100% healthy, which seems unlikely, reaching 17 points isn’t a walk in the park. Porzingis has only reached that number twice so far in the playoffs. We aren’t expecting a fully charged and aggressive Porzingis on Wednesday, making this a very interesting Celtics vs Knicks Game 2 player prop to bet on.
