Tacko Fall Reportedly Signs With New NBA Team

September 1, 2021 by The Spun

Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall takes the ball up the floor.

NBA fan-favorite Tacko Fall is on the move this offseason.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the 7-foot-5 center is heading to the Cleveland Cavaliers on a one-year, non-guaranteed deal.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with 7-foot-5 center Tacko Fall, agents Bill Duffy and Justin Haynes of @BDA_Sports told @TheAthletic @Stadium. Fall played his first two NBA seasons in Boston.

After going undrafted in 2019, the former UCF big-man signed with the Celtics. Through 26 games over the past two years in Boston, Fall logged 2.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 6.5 minutes per game.

Earlier this month, the Celtics failed to offer their reserve big man an extension, making him an unrestricted free agent heading into the 2021 season.

Fall will join the Cavs’ roster as the only true-center option behind rising star Jarrett Allen. The 2021 Cleveland team also features returning big men Kevin Love, Dean Wade, Mfiondu Kabengele, former Chicago Bull Lauri Markkanen and No. 3 overall pick Evan Mobley.

Joining the Cavs on a non-guaranteed deal, the Senegalese national will have to prove himself if he wants to earn a longtime future in the league.

No matter how he performs though, Cleveland fans are likely thrilled to have the cult hero on their side.
