For 43 years, Mike Gorman has served as the voice of the Boston Celtics. To celebrate his retirement at the end of the season, Celtics Wire reached out to some of the people in media who have gotten to know Gorman best throughout his career.
In the first edition of this series, radio play-by-play caller Sean Grande spoke about his friendship with Gorman and the few times they have been able to work together. So much of Gorman’s reach extended beyond the broadcast. The back halls of the Garden are filled with columnists, producers, bloggers, and the like. It’s in this context that legendary writer Steve Bulpett was able to build his own friendship with Gorman.
Bulpett shared his admiration for Gorman’s work, his love of the game, and what he hopes Gorman is able to achieve in retirement.
