Report: Yam Madar granted permission by Hapoel Tel Aviv to participate in Las Vegas Summer League

July 22, 2021 by Celtics Wire Leave a Comment

Stashed Boston Celtics draft prospect Yam Madar received official permission from his team in the Israeli Premier Basketball League to participate in the 2021 Las Vegas Summer League with the Boston Celtics according to Sports Rabbi’s Moshe Halickman.

Madar’s club Hapoel Tel Aviv recently won an arbitration case over whether it still had a contract with the rising Premier League star. Madar was deemed under Hapoel Tel Aviv’s control next season barring a buyout from the Celtic or any other teams interested in securing his services. The Beit Dagan native may well prove worth the investment however after a stellar performance in 2020-21 that saw him become the youngest player in Premier League history to win its Most Improved Player Award.

The Israeli point guard contacted the team’s management to formally ask for permission according to a statement from Hapoel Tel Aviv — relayed by Halickman — which granted him its blessing to participate.
