The Boston Celtics are in the market for a point guard, and free agent Dennis Schroder might be the player to fit the bill.
Boston has offered Schroeder a one-year contract with the possibility of a two-year deal containing a player option, according to Brian Robb of Mass Live. The most lucrative one-year deal the Celtics can offer Schroeder is the mid-level exception at $9.5 million.
Schroeder averaged 15.4 points and 5.8 assists in 61 games last season for the Los Angeles Lakers. The eight-year veteran previously played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks. He has averaged 14.3 points and 4.7 assists over the course of his professional career.
