It’s safe to say that Paul Pierce regrets his decision to bet on his former team. Pierce, 47, made good on his promise to undergo an hourslong walk to work in his robe after being wrong about his prediction that the Celtics would take Game 2 over the Knicks on Wednesday. He said there’s one thing he’s never doing again. “I ain’t never putting a bet on something like this ever again,” Pierce said on Instagram live upon finally arriving in the Fox parking lot. “I feel like I accomplished something crazy at the end of the day.”

Paul Pierce: Like ain’t a lot of people going to say ‘I’m chasing Jordan’… Me? I’m chasing… I don’t know who I’m chasing (laughs), but I know I ain’t chasing Jordan. I ain’t even close to Jordan, but like you know. Lou Williams: But you’re top 75. You know what? Do you understand what does it mean though? Pierce: Yeah. I’ll be having to remind people (laughs). Yeah. That’s the thing. Williams: Don’t get caught up in me having a good time. I’m top 75. Pierce: Yeah, I’ll be having to tell people. Yeah, they be looking at like the viral little video and all that, but like no, I hooped. I was really cool out there. -via YouTube / May 8, 2025
