Not every team sees Jaylen Brown as a valuable addition?

July 15, 2025 by Hoops Hype

Jake Fischer: I think all along there was never really a plan to move Jaylen or Derrick. So I don’t think anything got close, and I don’t think they were really willing to move those guys either. Like, you would have had to make a trade—Desmond Bane, Mikal Bridges–type of offer—for Derrick White. And honestly, for Jaylen—as great as he is—I think a lot of teams look at his salary number and go: “Why would you be paying what Boston values him at, for that contract?” So his deal isn’t universally viewed as an incredible addition if you were to trade for him.

More on this storyline

Kyrie Irving on Kobe Bryant: He had also a history already built in on his foundation of being Jelly Bean’s son. Yeah. You know, so his father already had history in the league and that helps. That’s one of like being son of an NBA player and being able to be around the environment and early on, you know. Jaylen Brown: That’s one of my biggest regrets in life, never got to meet Kobe. He did a detail on me in like 2018. Kyrie Irving: Did it surprised you that he did it? Jaylen Brown: It did. I was so hyped. I was so hyped. -via YouTube / July 15, 2025
The members of the NBPA Executive Committee include: Fred VanVleet, President; Grant Williams, First Vice President; Mason Plumlee, Secretary-Treasurer; Jaylen Brown, Vice President; Jaren Jackson Jr, Vice President; Donovan Mitchell, Vice President; Garrett Temple, Vice President; Karl Anthony Towns, Vice President; Gabe Vincent, Vice President -via NBPA / July 12, 2025
Paul Pierce on Celtics: As long as you got Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, you can figure out the other pieces because they still relatively young. I mean JB will be 29 coming up I believe. And Tatum 27 next year. Uh so they still got a lot. And then the way y’all playing look at KD is 30 is 37. Still playing high level. Steph 37, Bron 40. You know, even yourself in your 30s, y’all still play at a high level. So, they are in their prime. So, you can say for the next six years, let’s see what’s up with these two. -via YouTube / July 1, 2025
