Another one of Boston‘s $300 million stars is dealing with an injury, but the Celtics say it’s not one that fans will need to worry about.
On Wednesday, the team announced that All-Star swingman Jaylen Brown underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery — which they don’t believe will cause him to miss any playing time.
“He is expected to participate in training camp without limitation,” the Celtics shared to X.

“Ruined his trade value 💔” a fan commented.
“Hopefully he gets right. The knee clearly compromised his game,” another person pointed out.

Brown is coming off a season in which he averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists for the 61-21 Celtics but appeared in the second-least amount of games of his career (63).
With Jayson Tatum suffering an Achilles tear in Game 4 of the Knicks series, more of the offensive load is going to fall on Brown’s shoulders next year. And the four-time All-Star is going to have to be ready for it.
Boston needed a bit more from him in the East semifinals but perhaps this knee situation got in the way of that. Thankfully, it sounds like this was mostly a clean-up procedure though and he’ll be ready to go by the time they roll the balls out later this summer.
